St. Andrews International School, Green Valley is an outstanding international school for 2 – 18 year old children on the outskirts of Pattaya and Rayong. Profiel
We are looking for a passionate, open minded and inspiring teacher, who has similar educational beliefs of the school. The school is a forward thinking and creative place to work, it isn’t text book driven in a traditional manner. The teacher should be willing to reflect on her/his teaching to ensure it best meets the needs of the students and the flavour of the school. 

We are looking for a Primary teacher, preferably with PYP experience, who is willing to teach small groups and one-on-one lessons to first and second language learners (Dutch). Flexibility is needed in the ages taught, between the two teachers we need to be able to cover the full range of the Primary and Secondary curriculum. Experience in an International school setting is preferably but not essential. 

You will need to be fully qualified to teach in your home country in order for us to be able to obtain a teaching license and work permit for you in Thailand. Ability and interest to teach outside of the Dutch stream could also be an asset.

Functie
The Dutch Stream at St. Andrews is a fully integrated division of the school. It is not viewed as a separate entity or an add on. Dutch lessons are offered during the normal timetable of lessons to all ages from Nursery (2.5 years) to IBDP level (18 years). These lessons follow the Dutch and Flemish curriculum, with a specific focus on students’ individual needs and Dutch/Belgian culture. Our secondary students are assessed by the appropriate CNaVT and IBDP (Dutch B) examinations. Although student numbers per year group are low (1-5), language proficiency levels in one class may vary from native speakers to students who have just started learning Dutch. This can be challenging at times and requires a specific approach to teaching and learning (differentiation). 

The stream is staffed with two teachers, who between them cover the whole age range which currently has 24 students in the stream. The two teachers run the department together and are therefore responsible for the overall organisation and performance of the stream. This includes monitoring and reporting on student progress, the curriculum, standards achieved, budget and resourcing, accreditations and inspections. Our Dutch teachers have the same expectations as any other teacher in the school and are expected to fully involve themselves wherever possible, including extra-curricular activities,  field trips etc.

Other requirements: 

• Dutch language proficiency at native speaker level

• Dutch language teaching experience, ideally for native and second/third language learners

• Experience – a minimum of 3 years working in this/similar position and preferably in an international school

• Preferably with PYP knowledge and experience

• Qualified to work with/teach students

Aanbod
The initial, full-time contract will be for two years but we would like to see candidates see this as a medium term commitment (4 years).  We offer a competitive salary (including performance bonus), medical insurance and annual home leave flights.
